Erin was briefly surprised. Hailey had been with her almost constantly since she’d arrived at the Summers household, and suddenly she didn’t want to come with Erin? Erin’s rationality soon took over, though. She correctly supposed that since being grown-up was so important to Hailey, being allowed to stay home alone once in a while must be a strong desire for Hailey as well. Besides, she was simply going to the dentist; why would Hailey want to come along when she’d just be stuck in the waiting room waiting for her anyway?

Hailey had additional reasons for wanting to stay home, though. While she had managed to find a way to use her diapers, she wasn’t a huge fan of having to rush wetting and cleaning up, or being restricted to the bedroom.
